Surfskate
What is a surfskate?
A surfskate is a skateboard that gives you the feeling of surfing on the street.
Simply put, a surfskate is a skateboard for street surfing. Surfskates use special trucks that allow skaters to mimic the motion, feel, and flow of surfing.
Surfskates were originally invented by surfers who wanted something to do on flat, waveless days.
Over time, surfskate has proven to be one of the most enduring passions of skaters and surfers.
Whether you love skateboarding or surfing, surfskating is the closest you can get to riding a wave.
How does a surfskate work?
Skateboards are designed for tricks. Longboards are designed for cruising, downhill, or freeriding.
Surfskates are designed to mimic the sensation of surfing while on land. To enable this motion, they use a special truck system that mimics the movements of a surfboard.
Skateboard and longboard trucks rotate only along the axis of the pivot. Surfskate trucks mount the truck on a rotating arm, which adds an additional axis of rotation. This allows them to move in a different plane than typical skateboard and longboard trucks.
Pivoting surfskate trucks cause the nose of the board to move from left to right, providing crisp, precise steering as the skater shifts their weight.
The rear truck acts as a pivot point around which the board rotates, also ensuring stability and balance in the movement.
How does it feel to ride a surfskate?
If you've ever surfed, you know what it feels like to be on a surfskate.
If you haven't, imagine riding a board that can steer and move with the slightest shift of your weight, without ever having to push your foot down.
The front truck of a surfskate allows you to carve without having to put your foot down to build momentum. By pumping your surfskate from side to side, you quickly gain speed and steer the board.
